Alfonso Ribeiro does “The Carlton” on DWTS x

Gene Tierney in Venice, Italy. (1951)
A few highlights from what has been called one of the worst interviews in recent history.
I watched this actually, hahahhaha the interviewer didn’t want to understand anything
I was at my gym on the treadmill full run when this came on and the level of her ignorance was so high it made me trip
This women is beyond ignorant. How do people like this even exist
They exist because of bad journalism schools and Fox News….
~Journalism student (but I don’t want to work in journalism lol, I’m taking a specific option in journalism I want to use later on)
A moment of silent for all those in retail this holiday season.
this cartoon works at target clearly
When someone asks you if you’re ‘Team Peeta’ or ‘Team Gale’
When someone takes a powerful story about unjust governments, the strength and weakness of a young girl thrust into a violent and terrifying world, and young children being forced to kill each other to make a ‘point’t, and turns it into a fucking love story.
I saw an interview once where a lady reporter went up to a clear fangirl and asked the question and she said something like “as I read more, I’m Team Katniss because it’s really a story about government”
And the lady just looked at her with a blank state as if she never heard someone say something smart, probably because she was expecting everyone was as shallow as she expected them to be…my question to her: did you read the book?
(via xkcd: Marriage)
It’s appalling to me that the majority of Americans didn’t approve of interracial marriage until 1995. We need to recognize that America has been, and continues to be, a *profoundly* racist country.
Also interesting that the government was way out ahead of public opinion on interracial marriage and significantly behind on same-sex marriage. The government is supposed to protect the rights of its citizens whether or not the majority wants those rights protected. That’s not how we’re behaving these days.
